Overview:

Junior Optimist International (JOI) club is a community service organization led by the students. Our goal is to spread a little joy to the community through service learning.

Some of our past activities include:

• Thanksgiving baskets for families in need
• Handing out packets of personal hygiene items to those in need at shelters
• Sponsoring families at Christmas
• Volunteering at the Friendly house food pantry
• Raising money for University of Iowa’s children’s hospital
• Sponsoring a room at Gilda’s club for halloween
• Running the spring blood drive Ringing the bells for salvation army.
